I have a PowerPc iMac G5 with 10.4.11and need help booting from my USB drive. My disk drive isn't working but I successfully got the dmg file from the install disk.

I looked at tutorials everywhere and can't find anything helpful. I now know that you have to set up the installation from open firmware since PowerPc doesnt support bootable flash drives. When I open the open firmware I type in devalias to get a list of all the connected drives/devices and whatnot, but all the tutorials told me to look for a line starting with the word "ud" (i think usb device) but nowhere on my list has a "ud" on it. There are some starting usb, i.e. usb1, or usb2, but I can't find anything with "ud".

Please help me out here, I really need to upgrade to 10.5 so I can get some programs like Itunes 10 that work on ppc but only on 10.5 osx.

Thanks for any help!
