Greetings:
I am a Mac newbie and am seeking some guidance. Is it possible to format a cell with numbers to be positive or negative based on the value of an adjacent cell?
For example, if I have a file that represents a check book, and in column B I have a list of categories from house payment (an expense) to paycheck deposit (income), and in column C I have the actual amount $1,000 for the mortgage payment and $1,500 for a paycheck deposit, and in column D I have the ongoing balance which adds or subtracts the values accordingly.
Is it possible to format the values to be additions or subtractions from the balance by formatting it according to the category I list in Column B (deposits versus expenses)?
Thanks in advance.
Joel
