I keep having to click the bar below the keypad to do things. Is there a way just to use the track pad only? Thanks for your answer(s) in advance...

On Snow Leopard, go to System Preferences > Trackpad > Tap to click On Leopard, go to System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Trackpad > Trackpad Gestures > Clicking I think I am correct on the Leopard method. I don't have an install anymore, so those instructions are from memory only. Good luck with the new Mac!
