Help with data transfer

My powermac g5 just dead with all my data on it and I'm getting a new macbook pro very soon. Is there a way to get all my data like files, accounts, songs and stuff like that on to my new macbook or i'm out of luck.

It should be easy to pull the HDD from the pmac and attach it to your MacBook, unless of course the HDD itself was what died.

IFixit should have a guide to tell you how to get at the drive. Once you have it out we can help identify the right external adapter or enclosure.
