I have a good deal possible in Europe.

Normally the base model of 15 inch MBP costs here £2,349.00 however, I can buy it for £1,700.00.

Should I go for it or wait for next year HBM2 VEGA + 6 Core MBP?

My current PC is VERY OLD and I hate to run it, I even prefer to work on my iPad which is ridiculous.

I have my own forums and I create some graphics in photoshop but the stuff is not very big. As for gaming I play oooold games only. (diablo 2, baldurs gate 2 and heroes 3 - waiting for a remaster of d2).

What would you do if you were in my skin?

If you need a computer now because not having one is interfering with what you need to do then go for it, its a good price its more than up to the tasks you want and I see nothing in your use case that would make use of the increased specs likely next year, 6 months of increased productivity is worth far more than an increased spec sheet in 6 months time. Also you will probably still get £1500 for that machine next year if you really feel the need for better specs when they arrive.

What base model are you thinking about.

Is this the 2017 15" base model with new case, screen, touchbar, USC-C connectors only?

Or is it the 2015 15" that is still being sold as new, with no touchbar, same case as 15" macBook Pros from 2012-2015, HDMI and SD card slow, older USB-A 3.1 connectors.

If its the 2017 touch-bar model, then sure, its a good price. If the next MBP release happens to be an significant upgrade, you can always sell your computer for a good price and use that money to buy a new model.

If the system is going to be used for work- or education-related purposes, I would have personally purchased the MBP 4 months ago without thinking all that much about it if it were something I needed...so if I were you I would absolutely buy it.

There is no way of knowing when Apple is going to update their models, and they might not necessarily do it immediately following the release. IMO, waiting is overrated and it will drive you insane. With Macs, it's often completely unnecessary as well, because they hold such a high resale value on the secondary market that, provided you take reasonable care of it, you can easily recover most of your initial investment and whatever you do lose is offset many times over by the productivity you gain by having the right tool for the job at hand.

The 2017 15-inch MBP is a spectacular computer.

It's a good deal. As a golden rule if you use your machine professionally: if your old machine is holding you back and is interfering with your ability to work, get a new computer now. There is no surefire way to tell when the 2018 refresh is going to come out, and it's not worth losing months of productivity waiting for it. As other people said, if you keep your MBP in good conditions it will be easy to sell it for a good price when you wish to upgrade again.

Wait if you can afford to wait, but if you can't work with what you have then buy now.

If you need it I’d get it that’s a awesome price for that MacBook. Heck you’d be at $2000 after AppleCare. To have Apples top of the line MacBook Pro for $2000 isn’t that bad but definitely still expensive. You have to make sure you really need that much of a machine.
