Hi everyone, longtime reader/lurker. I would love to get your advice/thoughts on something that's been on my mind since the announcement of the new iPhones. I want to make a decision about staying up tonight to pre-order the new iPhone 8 and Apple Watch tonight.

For the first time in a long time, I want to buy an iPhone. Why? Not because of the iPhone itself. It's because of that pesky Apple Watch Series 3.

I purchased every single iPhone leading up to the iPhone 6S, got bored with iOS, and made the transition to Android. I currently use a Google Pixel, which has been a fantastic device. I run a small business, so I love having the flexibility of scheduling texts in advance (scheduling to send clients happy birthday, anniversary, etc. messages months in advance - that will never exist on the iPhone because of the restrictions on the Messages app).

Unfortunately, there is no Apple Watch equivalent. Android Wear completely sucks - it's light years behind the Apple Watch. I watched that keynote yesterday, floored by what it can do now. I really want to get one, however I am stumped. I put my SIM back into my iPhone 6S again to mess around with iOS - it's a great OS, but that texting capability has helped me grow my business and has helped me receive customer service compliments. It would suck not having that.

Should I switch back to iOS just to get the Apple Watch? Are any of you out there in a similar predicament?

Everyone I know with an Apple watch loves it. I've been skeptical of it but I may get one now.
