I recently buy a Canon HF10. the iDVD
I tried to import the movies using iMovie09. It was easy and simple. Although, after that, i burned a DVD with the movie, using the iDVD, and the quality was terrible.

The canon has a software but it's only for windows. Does anyone knows what software can i use, so that I could convert the MTS files to AVI directly, withouth loosing image quality?!

I think the iMovie makes some image compress that cause de bad image quality.

Can anyone help me?

If the iMovie project played fine before going to iDVD, its not an issue with the footage. iDVD does not support HD video, at least not at full quality. Until Apple starts including Blu-Ray drives or enables the proper output channels in iDVD the quality that you have is as good as it can probably get. I'm not too familiar with other burning applications such as Toast or Roxio, and I'm not sure they will offer better output quality, again, without an HD-capable burner.
