I am a newbie with entourage, and have never used outlook
I am using Entourage for a small business on an iMac intel, and I recently purchased a macbook to use on the road, can someone steer me in the right direction. What I want to do is make it so the data base on both computers are synced.
Can you do that?? now if both computers are on, emails come to both, but if the macbook is off, it will-not receive, and when I send an email from one computer, it does not show up on the other.

Is there a way to sync them

Who is your email provider? If they offer an IMAP mail service then this will do what you're looking for.

I must admit though, I don't know much about Entourage and how good it's IMAP support is.

I use Entourage, and its fine with my IMAP account. If your provider runs IMAP (ask them if you don't know), get the details of the server, port you need to use etc etc, off them and then go

Tools/accounts/new

Select IMAP (you can also click on "Assist me" and it will talk you through it)

That should do the trick.

I have a godaddy domain, and it is a POP3 ??

is there some way to sync, using .mac ??

Save for IMAP, which is the best solution and doubtfully available with a godaddy account, your other option is to tell Entourage on both machines not to delete messages off the server when it checks mail. Two downsides to that:

1. both machines will be pulling down email

2. Depending on where you answer your email, you'll have different sent mail on the two machines.

If all else fails, dedicate one of those machines to email, perhaps? Am thinking of getting a new iMac when they are announced for home, but will continue to use my Macbook as my primary 'communications' machine, even though I have access to IMAP.
