I bought my 4S via an AT&T retail store on launch day along with AppleCare. I am not pleased with the warm color of my screen or the poor battery life. Would I goto AT&T or an an Apple retail store for an exchange? Also, does AppleCare cover such a thing?

I would always go to an Apple Store if you have one in your area.

You would want to go into an Apple Store. AT&T will basically turn you down because you didn't buy their warranty.
