Hello people, i just got a 250gb external SATA hard drive in an enclosure.
When i plugged the USB cable into my macbook, it came up with this error saying that mac os x doesnt recognise it and gave me three options

Initialise, something else.. and Ignore

I clicked on initialise and dont know what to do...

I plan on using this hard drive to:
1. Store media files for my mac os x
2. As a hard disk for gaming files patches demos etc to bring to lan parties (so it has to work with mac os x and windows xp)
3. Running external applications off bootcamp
4. I have a PC at work, and would like to transfer files to my mac at home

What do i do? detailed explanations would be helpful
Cheers

The option to format as MS-DOS may not appear unless you go into Partition and the Options button to write a Master Boot Record. Hope that helps, farqueue 😛
