Help with Firewire 800 - pin question

Hello everybody,
thank you for reading!
I have a question regarding my Firewire connection (firewire 800) with my Canon Digital Video Camcorder (mini dv - MD160pal).

I'm not quite sure which cable I should be buying to connect the two!
The DV connection has 4 pins, but im not so sure about the firewire, seem to have 9 silver bits all around it. i'm hopeless!

On the Camcorder Booklet is says:

Check the type and orientation of the terminal and make sure you connect the DV cable properly

Use the optional CV-150F (4pin-4pin) or CV-250F (4 pin-6pin) DV cable

and to me this doesn't really mean anything!
I need your help!

Firewire 400 comes in two connector types: 4 pin and 6 pin. The difference is that 6 pin carries power.

You can connect either 4 or 6 pin Firewire 400 to a Firewire 800 port with an appropriate cable/adaptor.

When they say "DV cable" they mean Firewire 400.

You need something like this (4 pin Firewire 400 to Firewire 800 cable).

the one on 2011 MBP is 9 pin its a small rectangle
4 pin you should know since its on your camera is a small metal, almost min usb shaped, and 6 pin is the largeest in size its kind squarish on one side and rounded on the other
