help with firewire camcorder isight

Hi

whenever i use my camcorder attached through firewire to participate in video chats over iChat, after a few minutes my camera starts doing all sorts of wacky stuff, and cycling through all the special effects, changing to sepia tones and doing the 4/8/16 square thing on the monitor and zooming in and out.

This makes it extremely hard to partake in a conference, can i have some help in how to get rid of the problem?

Wow, odd problem.

first: What kind of camera do you have? [brand and model number?]

Second: it sounds like the camera is going into the default demo-mode for whatever reason. Search through the menus on the camera and try to find if the demo-mode is turned on, or turned on to begin after so much idle time. If you have the documentation around, look it up and see what the doc says about demo-mode.

And if it was eating away at you I'm using a Canon mv20i
