Each of these photos is taken within 45 minutes of using the device (and closer to 30). I genuinely love this thing, but comfort is becoming a significant factor. I tried the dual-strap header, but found that for my head shape, it didn’t really put pressure on the crown of my head - thus, not a major help. I like the easy on-off of the solo strap but - this hurts! Can anyone provide any tips? Is this a Light Seal problem?

I went back to the Apple Store 4 times to swap out light seals (35W, 33w, 26W, 25N). Each time I thought I found the one that fit me and then I’d wear it for 30-45 min at home and it would it get very uncomfortable. In my situation, the device just didn’t fit my face due to how heavy it is. I tried messing with both straps a lot..

I had 0 complaints about it outside of fit, but I realized there was nothing I could do to solve the issue.

I am honestly surprised by how others aren’t experiencing this problem.

Sorry to inform you nothing solves this problem as of yet. A different light seal only solves the problem of light bleed and atypical FOV. Maybe a third party accessory in the future solves this to better distribute the weight. Many others are getting the red marks because of the pressure required (at least with the solo loop) to get a secure fit with minimal light bleed.

I ended up returning the Vision Pro due to overall weight and not being able to use the thing more than 30 mins at a time, but I did try a couple of light seals after my Vision Pro was delivered with a 21w seal.

My biggest problem was also that my forehead was getting most of the pressure and causing headaches, so I went back and tried a few more seals and the 11w light seal worked the best. According to Apple.com’s questionnaire online, the 11w reduces pressure off of the forehead and places more weight on the cheeks, which exactly I was looking for.

Unfortunately, I was there to return at the same time and despite the new light seal fitting, the overall burden of having the fairly heavy Vision Pro on my head and realizing I’d rather do the same tasks on other devices without having the pressure of anything on my head, I ended up returning it.

Anyways in your case, since you love the device, I would suggest that if too much pressure on your forehead is an issue, try going to an 11w light seal, it should take some of the pressure off the forehead and place more pressure on your cheek area.

Thanks to you (and others). I’m not loving the doom-and-gloom replies (for my own sake!)…. I have a 23W now, which is the seal I most consistently scan for. I did try on a 21W in store and was a fan but, because of the way the original store handled my purchased and exchange of size, they could only do a no-receipt exchange which would had had other repercussions. Long story short… may have to go back to the original store and try once more, but I’m not overly optimistic.

My understanding is the second digit (3 in 23) represents the distance between the lenses and your eyeballs. So moving to 21W from 23W won't do much beyond marginally improving FOV. I would love to be proven wrong, for your sake. $4k is worth the visit to get the best possible configuration so a store visit sounds like a good idea but prepare to be disappointed if you're looking to resolve the discomfort.

This is definitely a your mileage may vary situation, but for what it’s worth the thing that strikes me about your photos is the absence of any marks on the sides of your eyes implying no pressure there. I am lucky to literally be able to wear mine for as long as I want. Longest so far is 8 hours. But for me the pressure is well distributed including the sides. A long way of saying perhaps you might have luck with a different width.

Hi guys, it seems (internet) that Apple Vison Pro Light Seals use a three character code. In the example 23W The first character (2) represents overall width the second character (3) represents depth and the third character (W) represents nose bridge width (N=narrow, W=Wide).

Apple Vison Pro Lght Seal Cushions come in Narrow, Wide, Narrow + and Wide + with the plus sizes being thicker/deeper.

I had read that there are 26 total variations. From what I can tell there are three widths (1,2,3), five depths (1,2,3,4,5) and two bridge widths (N,W). This would be 30 variations if all combinations have been produced.

There are also (obviously) 2 band styles, each comes in S,M,L.

We have two light seals here (21 Wide and 25 Wide), and I can tell you that changing between the two has a profound effect on field of view, glare/flare, light leakage, and comfort. We are both pleased so far but we are headed to Apple Store to make sure that we have the perfect fit.

Good news, all you have to do to make a $4k HMD comfortable to wear and painless is buy a second solo band and 3d print a rotating adapter that lets you use both at the same time.

But seriously, I was going to return my AVP the day after picking it up when it triggered a migraine within an hour of use, something no other HMD I've used has caused...then I found this, bought a second solo band. And there is ZERO weight on my face and a very light touch to the light seal, just enough to block light.

Apple was concerned with form over function. They could have designed a version of what you see here and you'd remove the excuse a lot of people used for returning them. It's even more comfortable to wear in this configuration than my Quest 3. It's probably not going to keep me from returning it (not seeing the value in spending $4k on something I only use to watch videos) but I will be able to keep using pain-free for the next week and a half.

Pretty much the same thing I’m feeling. I’m returning it, and I’ll miss it. It just isn’t comfortable at all. If there are some good first or third part comfort options in the future, I’ll definitely re-buy.

I own a lot of VR headsets and the Vision Pro is the least comfortable one I’ve worn. My Quest Pro is easily the most comfortable.

I swapped a 21W to a N and the narrow was too narrow, while the 21W puts zero pressure on the “temples” just like OP. Seems like they need some more in the middle sizes for us.

See if you can try 11W, that takes pressure off of the forehead and places more even pressure on the cheeks and around the sides and below the eyes to take pressure off of the forehead. I tried it before I returned my vision pro and while headset was a bit heavy still (for me) overall, the 11W seemed like the best fit since I was having the same issue as the OP originally.
