I've been doing SETi for a while but I would rather Fold because, at least in my mind its more likely to benefit society. So, a couple weeks ago I downloaded the console version and ran it... and nothing happened. I figured it must be because I only have a 400Mhz G3 so I let it sit for a while... still nothing. I decided to check the Process Viewer and sure enough the folding process was @ 0% CPU. I then dumped the folding app and am back to SETi but would still like to fold... any advice?

Did you answer all of the configuration questions?

Did it show anything in the Terminal window?

Welcome to our folding team MrCommunistGen, the more the merrier. If you go to your Applications then Utilities, then open up the Terminal application. At the cursor type, work and hit return. That will bring up a list showing the progress of your processor in % of work completed.

Hello Mr.CommunistGen! Welcome to folding and thanks for getting on our team! I also started on a B&W with folding, but it was really really slow. Also started slowing down everything on my Mac. If that is the case on your machine, discard the apps you have running from Stanford and use mc68k's script. Your machine will respond faster if you are doing something else.

Good luck folding and we will see appear in the charts!
