I want to put 3 partitions on an external drive:

-1 for backing up osx

-1 for backing up my windows xp partition'

-1 for extra osx storage

How do I do this?

Yea I know how to use google dude. maybe i should rephrase my question and be more specific: once im done making my two osx partitions and i am in windows to format the rest of the drive, will the drive be read as 2 drives and extra space, and just let me format the extra unformatted space? Or will it be retarded and not let me? I always think windows overcomplicates things so that is why i am wondering.

If you download and install the free NTFS-3G, then you can do all of your formatting on the MacOS X side of things.
