Help with getting AT&T MMS text notifications?

On my original iPhone, I used to receive texts letting me know to go to viewmymessage.com to view a MMS message. I have realized it does not do this on my iPhone 3G. So I called AT&T and they said they fixed it. The test they sent out worked fine, but since then I have asked a few friends to send me a MMS message. They said they did, but I did not receive a text telling me to go to viewmymessage.com. So I was wondering if it takes a few hours to set up completely? Has anyone else had this situation?
