Help with HP C4480

Hello Everyone,
I just got an HP C4480, all-in-one printer with teh purchase of a new MacBook for my daughter in college. The printer will not start up. It has power and starts to run its start-up routine, but it shuts itself down every time. Anyone have any ideas? :(
