Help with iChat!!

Is there anyway to disable iChat from adding people to my Address Book? I love having people's nicknames, but half of them i dont need in my Address Book but you can't have a nickname without them being in your address book! Any help you could give would be awesome!

Screennames can be added to your buddy list using AIM Express which is a webapp version of AIM. Makes changes through that interface instead of iChat will add people to your buddy list but not add them to your Address Book application unless you add a nickname or full name for each person in iChat. Not sure if this entirely answers your question...

Yeah thats more or less what I figured... I use adium to do it, but Adium for some reason refuses to let me send files and no video chat is annoying.
