I have this menulet installed that plays "relaxation" sounds like ocean waves, crickets etc. It is driving me crazy and I cannot uninstall it. I have done searches for the aif files to find the name of the application, w/o success. The menulet icon is a small black crescent shape. It looks like this:

Any help appreciated in figuring out the name of the app that created this menulet would be greatly appreciated.

I read the thread title and for a brief moment I thought it said "Help with idenifying (sic) and removing mullet." I could have helped with that problem.

Check whether it's in System Preferences > Account > Login Items.

If you see anything there which is out of the ordinary, then right-click on it and choose 'Reveal in Finder'.

Remove it from the Login Items list (you may need to authenticate), and then delete all files you can find relating to it (after a restart).

You could also try looking at Activity Monitor and see if anything listed looks like it might be responsibile.
