Hi there,

I'm new to making DVD movies, and wanted to get the video of my daughter to her grandparents for x-mas, but here I am in January, still struggling...

We have a Flip digital video recorder, which I used to take multiple clips. I imported these clips into iMovie HD 6.0.3. Using iMovie, I combined many clips into a movie, and added background music. Then, I used iDVD 6.0.4 to make a DVD that contains this movie, as well as several other brief, un-edited clips from the same Flip camera. Up to this point, no problems. All clips play as they should in both iMovie & iDVD.

HOWEVER, when I burn this project to a DVD (I'm using Sony DVD+R media), the main movie (created in iMovie, with background music), has NO SOUND. The menus have sound, the shorter clips (which had no background music added) have sound, everything is OK except the main feature. I have also tried to save this project as a disk image on my HD, and when I view that, the sound is still missing from the main feature (therefore, I don't think it's my media).

I have been told that the video could be "muxed" - but based on my limited knowledge of this term, I don't believe that the video files from my camcorder are "muxed" - if they were then all my video clips would have issues with sound. Unless, of course, iMovie would create a muxed file - would it?

Thanks for reading the extended post, and TIA for your help!
