I am using iMovie 6 HD with wide screen video. When ever I export to a QuickTime movie it squishes the movie down the a 4:3 ratio. This happens after I score with GarageBand and try to export to QuickTime as well. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

Have you tried using the expert settings. I usually have to go in and change it to a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the 4:3. Hopefully this should work for you.. Let us know.
