Help with iphone 3g connecting to computer!

Iphone shows a connect to itunes screen, but when i plug it in itunes doesnt even register that i connected it. This happend when i was trying to update it to ios 4.2, it said i had error 1602 then went to this screen
help!

Try using recboot to kick it out of recovery and see if it actually installed since 90% of the time with upgrades and downgrades it works but itunes gives you an error anyway. If it didn't work after you use rec boot then just try it again. P.S. erything works better on a mac in case your not on one maybe you could try that. Hope it helps!
