help with iphone 3gs

i have recenly tried to update my iphone firmware, but it froze during the process, now i have a picture of a usb lead and the itunes icon constantly on my screen, but iphone will nopt respond. plugged it into laptop, but its not found, HELP PLEASE

You have to put your iPhone in DFU mode. While it's connected to the computer hold down the power and home buttons until iTunes picks it back up again. Then you can restore.
