Hey guys, I recently re-formatted my HD on my Macbook Pro and now iTunes won't let me manually manage my music and add new songs onto my iPhone unless I completely wipe out everything that is on there from the "previous library."

iTunes thinks that since I wiped my HD that this is a completely different library, and I guess it is. Either way, what are my options other than completely wiping the music and putting it all back on again?

I tried to edit the iTunes Library files with a HexEdit program, but couldn't find the old file from the original library.

Wow. 22 views and not one response. Come on guys. I thought you were the Apple Gurus.

The way Apple has set this up, you are left only with the option to do what it tells you to. (completely wipe it off and put the music again).
Come on, it shouldn't be that time consuming?

If you have some songs on iPhone that you don't have on your computer, use some of the iPod-to-computer transfer apps. (for example Senuti)
