Hey guys, great boards you have here! I've been using the fantastic tutorials here in order to jailbreak my Touch. Everything has gone fine for the most part. I'm just having some trouble with the iPhone programs on the Touch.

I'm following these instructions:

iPhone Native Apps
BOTGOD's BLOG: http://www.botgod.net/ (Will remove link on BoTGoD or mod's request!)
- Install all ".app" folders into /Applications/ on your iPod.
- Install GMM.framework into /System/Frameworks/ on your iPod.
- Install MobileMailSettings.bundle into /System/PreferenceBundles/ on your iPod.
- Log in to your iPod using an ssh client, then type this command: /bin/chmod -Rf +x /Applications/ (You MUST do this for apps to work!)
OR
- If you use a GUI SFTP client like WinSCP, you can highlight the copied files on your iPod, right-click for Properties and enter 0755 in the Octal field. This is the equivalent of the chmod command right above.

I did the first 3 steps then I skipped the 4th and did the 5th since I was using WinSCP. The icons for the programs I added (Mail, Weather, and Maps) show up on my Touch. However, when I open them they just freeze and after a few seconds crash, sending me back to the springboard.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

you have to type the commands in or the wont work, you cant skip a step.

in winscp do the hotkey CTRL+T it should bring up a window that loads and there should be a place where you can enter in the command /bin/chmod -Rf +x /Applications/

you dont have to set the permissions I dont think, I didnt and mine work fine

Alright... here you go.

You didnt chmod right

ssh to the ipod

then type

/bin/chmod -Rf a+x /Applications

Enjoy =)

That did it guys! I don't know why I thought I could skip that.

Thanks a lot! :)
