I have not done a phone upgrade in a long time (i have an IP8 now awaiting standard 13).

I know I can put the devices next to each other to move apps and data and other iCloud items but one that I am not clear on is music. I have around 26GB go locally stored music. I am an Apple Music subscriber so I was thinking the best method would be a re-download of that over WiFi. I also know I am also open to doing a full restore via lightning cable and using iTunes.

1. Backup your phone in two places- your Mac and iCloud (just to be paranoid sure)
2. Try the iPhone to iPhone method first. It should work. If it doesn’t, restore the new phone from your Mac backup. That’ll definitely work.

Thanks for the info.
