I've got a weird issue, and I'm not sure what's going on.

I have lots of episodes of TV shows, they were .avi files, and I was pretty bummed that I couldn't get them to play in iTunes. Well, I found that just changing the file extension not only allowed them to be imported into iTunes, but also play flawlessly, I was very excited.

I've been copying lots of them over, and sorting them the way I like, and I came across some files exhibiting strange behavior. Here's what's happening. I copy the file to iTunes. They first appear in the Movies section. I test them out, and they all play just fine within the program. Great. So I move edit the files, I select them all, and change the Show to then name of the show, and set the media kind to TV Show. The files process, they move over to the TV Shows folder, they sort properly in iTunes... now they won't play!

These particular files won't play in iTunes at all after I change the settings! So, I delete them, and I try import them again. Same thing. It's driving me crazy. I checked in the TV Shows folder, the files still play from Finder.

I'm using Perian, I'm sure that doesn't matter, but I thought I'd throw it out there. And I know, changing the file extensions is a pretty ghetto way of 'fixing' the initial problem, but it worked.
