Ran into a snag with preparing my old iPad 2 for sale. Its related to iTunes and I'm not sure of the appropriate forum to post this. I'll explain the problem here in hopes that someone can help, but would also appreciate direction to the appropriate forum if this isn't the correct one.

I purchased a new iPad rMini a couple weeks ago. Set it up using backup from iCloud from my old iPad 2. That worked fine. A couple days later when syncing some content from my iMac to the new iPad mini I noticed that the new mini had the same device name as my old iPad 2. Guess the backup via iCloud just copied the old device name to my new device without asking me if I wanted a different name.

So I changed the name on my new iPad Mini and it has since worked just fine. iTunes on my iMac now displays the new device name for it and the old device name for my iPad 2. At this point I thought everything was resolved.

Today I started to prepare the iPad 2 for sale. Wanted to deactivate the iTunes for this device from my account. Went to my iTunes account to "Manage Devices". To my surprise, only the name for my old iPad 2 was listed and not the new iPad Mini name. So my obvious concern is that if I delete that device name on iTunes it will also delete iTunes service to my new iPad Mini.

How do I proceed? Is there a way to get the iTunes Store to recognize the new iPad as a separate device from my old one like my iMac does? Suggestions??

If it makes a difference, the old iPad is running iOS 6 and the new one iOS7.

Thanks!
