Help with iTunes syncing

So I downloaded a couple of songs from iTunes today, but like I normally do, I converted the songs to ACC instead of purchased ACC. I do this because I'm a little OCD and because it saved me about 2 MB over just two songs. When I sync with my phone, the old purchased ACC songs get downloaded back into iTunes. How do I get rid of them? Automatic downloads are already off.
