Help with LG the V and music

My sister got a new phone. It's the VX-9800. We have been trying to put music on it by using a miniSD card, but it isn't coming up. The website says that the phone supports both MP3 and AAC, but we couldn't get either to work. Is there anyone with this phone that could give us some help?
