Help with m4v file to ipad

I ripped a dvd with Handbrake and for some reason iTunes does not pick up the file. Is there something I'm missing here? (I also dl the VLC player for the codecs)

I'm running iTunes 10.2.2.12 on windows 7. The size of the ripped DVD is 2.96 GB.
