Hi, I have a MacBook Air that's crashed it looks like a corrupt OS. I feel a Reinstall of the OS should fix the issue. However, I need the data and I don't have a time machine backup for this.

If do "Reinstall OSX" from Disk Utility will it wipe my data. From my memory, it doesn't. However, I am not 100% sure. Does anyone who knows for sure, can you tell me?

Thanks.
