Hi all,

I recently purchased a monitor (model:AOC e2450Swh 23.6" 24 inch LCD LED) computer screen to work with my Macbook Air (Mac OSX 10.7.5)

I am using the adapter with an HDMI cable but the monitor reads 'no signal'. I have tried all input settings on the monitor and my mac won't detect the display.

I have tried every setting in the display settings, but still nothing. I went to the mac store online and downloaded the firmware and software updates, then when I tried to install it it said that 'This software is not supported on your system'.

I should also mention that I have used this computer and cable configuation on another monitor and it works fine.

I am really really stuck, can anyone help??? Thanks in advance.

Do you have another computer that you can test the monitor with?

if the computer works with other monitors, then that suggests the monitor is at fault. You shouldn't need to alter or download any software or firmware to get a display to work.

I would personally use DVI in preference to HDMI. That might mean using a different adaptor from the MBA.
But that's just me.
