So im trying to do BootCamp and everything is fine until I tried to install Windows. I thought putting in my recovery discs of my Windows XP would work but its giving me an error at the beggining saying " Recover Discs Not Supported ..." on a black screen.

I cant eject the discs or anything, any help is appreciated

Thanks,
Bret

Shut down your Mac and turn it on again. But before the gray screen appears, click the mouse button and keep it like that for a moment. It would force eject the CD.

Recovery discs won't work. You need to go out and buy the full version of the OS. Normally, recovery discs only work on the exact system that they were designed for (putting a HP disc into a Dell won't work), so loading them on a mac won't work.

Ok I booted up my macbook with my Windows Xp Pro cd and it just gives me a black screen with a blinking cursor?

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Did you print the instructions as instructed? You have to use a stand alone full install of XP pro, you can not use recovery or upgrade copies of XP. That said, shut down your unit and reboot you should be able to expel the CD after the reboot. Good luck...

Ive already got that down just right now when I enter my Windows XP Pro cd, the screen comes up blank with a blinking cursor

What stage are you at with the installation of XP?
Have you created a partition using Bootcamp?

Let me reiterate....Recovery discs won't work. You need to go out and buy the actual full version of the opperating system. Recovery discs are ment for system recovery on the system it came with, and is therefore hardware-specific.

He's not saying that he would still like to install Windows with the recovery disks, but that he wants to get back to his OSX installation!
