i used BootCamp to dual-boot Vista Ultimate. the problem here is not really anything major, but it's still pretty annoying. the sound on Vista crackles (very often) making it unbearable to listen to music, watch movies, play games. i figure it happens when MacDrive is accessing the Macintosh Drive to update it's index or whatever. that's just a guess though.

i run an iMac G5 20". since we all run the same hardware when buying the same computer from Apple, i'm sure there's others experiencing this annoyance. please help!

You should try disabling MacDrive and test with sounds that exist on the Windows partition. This will help isolate whether it is a Vista sound driver issue or MacDrive related.
