Help With Mail

Hello I hope you all can help. I am trying to figure out how to set a default color in Mail so that when I compose a new message it will automatically use my prefered font and color. I am run OSx 10.2.8 and mail 1.2.5. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. :eek:
