Hi,

I've recently bought myself a Windows desktop machine which will ultimately replace my iMac (though I will be using my Macbook Pro for my ongoing OS X needs!) and I'm currently in the process of setting it all up.

I'm looking for some advice from anyone who has had to make a transition from OS X to Windows as to the best way that I can transfer certain things, for example:

- iTunes - is there an easy way of transferring all my songs/videos/apps while keeping my database intact (playlists, play counts etc).

- My iPhone - at the moment this is set up to sync with my iMac, but I need to work out how to move this over to sync with the PC without screwing it up (i.e. I don't want to lose contacts/photos etc on the phone)

- File transfer - for assorted crap that I need to transfer, like documents, photos and movies, how would you recommend doing this? I would have liked to use my external hard drive to copy this across from one machine to another, but unfortunately it seems the drive isn't formatted in a way that the PC can interact with it properly. I guess I could try getting the two computers to connect directly over the wireless network as an alternative.

The tools I have to work with:
- a Windows 7 desktop
- a 24" iMac running Snow Leopard
- an external hard drive, currently used for Time Machine for my iMac (and MBP), as well as holding some large files
- a home wireless network (which every computer can connect to)

Anyway, any help would be very much appreciated!!

Joe
