Help with Mirror Raid Volume?

I bought a couple of LaCie 500 gig drives and did a mirror raid on them in OSX Disk Utility. I am now thinking of reinstalling OSX and am worried about what will happen to my data on the mirror volume. Does anybody know if I will loose all my data if I unplug this drive and then plug it back in once OSX is reinstalled? Any advice much appreciated...
