I don't know why it's not displaying correctly. Could it be something to do with the image's size, or the 2 hour time delay? Help would be appreciated.

Because the pics used on profile pages and those on forum pages are frequently hosted on different servers due to load issues. The two servers only sync up every few hours.
How long does it take to get an avatar? this is as written my 499th post. My next one will written in a second but where can I pick one, etc.

You can have whatever you want just as long as it's family friendly and under the size limit.
Does it also take 2 hours for the option to come up to upload an avatar? Just hit my 500+ post half an hour or so ago and I still can't see an option on the edit avatar page. See attached for reference.

Just go to bed and when you wake it'll be good to go. Seriously, why to people get so uppity about an avatar. I block them personally.
You've waited almost two years to qualify for an avatar.... a few more hours or even a day isn't going to kill you.
Wasn't concerned about how long the wait is. The question was about whether there is supposed to be wait even after achieving the title. Thanks

It may partly be stored in cache and hasn't updated yet. Give it some time and also clear your browser cache to see if that helps. Also ask if anyone else can see it to help determine if the issue resides in the site or your browser.
