Help with MyWi

So I jailbroke my iPhone 4, downloaded MyWi, and turned on WiFi Hotspot.

My MBP automatically recognizes my iPhone 4 under Devices, not as a WiFi hotspot...

How do I make my MBP recognize my iPhone 4 as a hotspot, not as a Device?

I remember that the SSID doesn't broadcast.....you'll probably have to enter ti manually in airport to connect it that way....I think....been long since I had to do this sorry

You can't.
Mywi currently only supports adhoc wifi connection.
After 4.3 is jb you will have real wifi hotspot.

OP can you just tap into the MB via USB???

That is a hotspot. Its connecting over wifi to your device. Its just doing some adhoc stuff so the computer sees it as a device.

EDIT: Right what he said. Not "true" hotspot so that wouldnt work
