Help with NAS

Please help. I am having trouble copying files to my network attached hard-drive from my macbook (running OSx 10.6.8). I have a seagate 2TB hard drive plugged into the usb port on an ASUS Rt-56u. In the router settings I have enabled file sharing through an account, and setup the user name and password. I am able to see the server in my finder, login and open it's contents. As well I can copy files from the NAS to my mac however it will not let me copy files from my mac to the NAS. I keeps telling me that there is already a copy located on the the drive and then copies just the file name. I have installed the Paragon driver and am able to copy files when the drive is plugged into the USB port on my Mac but not over the network. I am assuming this may be a permissions issue I am just not sure how to fix it. Please help.
