help with netowork status resetting

i have a iphone 3gs jailbroken and unlock to t-mobile, ios 5.1.1


i had this problem since ios 5.0, when i use the gps my network status on top will reset and i have to wait a good 2-3 mins. for it to com back his is every time gps loads,
