Hi,
Just bought a new Airport Extreme Base Station today and have configured successfully, attaching to a draytek modem.
My set up is a new macbook which I've installed the airport utility on (from CD that came with AEBS) and a 5 year old Tibook 1 GHz. I've got a couple of questions though if anyone can help:
1. I can enable WPA2 on the macbook with no problems it seems and all appears to work fine. If I try to select WPA2 Personal on the Tibook the wireless appears to work quite haphazardly - intermittently lose all pips (turn grey) and I get no connection. I have airport admin utility 4.2 and can't seem to find an update anywhere. So, is WPA2 compatible with Tibooks??
2. If I've enabled WPA on one computer and WPA2 on another, does it just default to WPA security for both??
3. I'm assuming the macbook is 802.11g (54mbs), but know the Tibook is 802.11b (11mbs). So, does the AEBS default to the slower speed for transfers between systems?? While I've got the Tibook is 802.11g (and 802.11n) redundant??
Lots of questions - thanks anyone who could be bothered reading and answering.
