I just replaced my 5-6 year old (dead) Epson Stylus 777i with an Epson Stylus Photo R220. I downloaded the latest drivers for PowerPC-based OS X (they've got Core Duo-specific drivers up already, as well) and ran into an issue.
The printer installed fine and prints quite well, but I am missing out on some extended features.
Epson bundles a PDF with the drivers, entitled "OS X booklet.pdf" which explains the drill for running through the Add Printer process a SECOND time in order to enable such features as:
Standard
Standard - Minimize Margins
Sheet Feeder - Borderless
Roll Paper
Roll Paper - Borderless
Roll Paper - Borderless Banner
...and that involves launching "Print Center" from Applications / Utilities. Well, under OS X 10.4.x, that app does not exist. It seems "Printer Setup Utility" replaced it. Nearly the same app...but when you click the existng printer, a Page Setup dialog DOES NOT appear at the bottom, listing the features to install on this 2nd pass.
That said...how are these modes accessed / installed? This is an OS X version thing and, right now, I'm not "fully setup" as far as what this printer is capable of.
Anyone have any info here? Thanks.
