Help with old school software os 7.5 to 9

Thought this would be the best place to start!'

I've been searching the webs for os 8 install image and a os 9 install image for an older G3 machine anyone able to help?

As Apple still holds the copyright to these, you can't legally download them. OS 7.5 is the newest that they've made available for download.

The install media is available on Ebay without much trouble.

You might notice he used the term "legally". Of course you can download them. But that particular word is the crux here.

Unless you meant you know of a legal place where you can legally download 8 and 9 disk images?

Keep in mind, I am now using the term "legally" as well. As opposed to "illegally" which unless you can provide a legitimate link, would be any link.

That link goes beyond the scope of its purpose. Apple has no intention of providing a free copy of OS 9. The latest free OS they offer is System 7.5. Older copies of OS 8 and above can be found on ebay for next to nothing.

You would be surprised how much a 9.2.1 disc fetches on eBay these days.

OS 8 is cheaper, 8.5/8.6 not so much.

That's practically because they're the last useful OS for older PPC Macs and that's a stretch.
