I have a MacBook Pro A1502 (early 2015) I am looking to find an adapter or cable to be able to connect my new iPad pro 11 USB-C to my Thunderbolt on my MacBook A1502. I have searched and get lots of adapters for ethernet or regular usb but I can't seem to find a adapter or cable. Thank you

USB -c to usb-a

Tb3 to usb

this is pretty $$$$, I would suggest a usb 3.0 hub and skip thunderbolt entirely. the iPad Pro takes a ton of juice, so you’ll need a lot of horsepower from the hub.

Erm.. you just want to transfer content between the Mac and the iPad, right?

If that's the case, what you want is a USB-C to USB-A (male to male) cable. No Thunderbolt involved.

The iPad Pro is not compatible with Thunderbolt. USB-C and Thunderbolt are not the same thing, despite the fact that the connectors look the same.

To connect a 2018 iPad Pro with USB-C to a 2015 MacBook Pro, you need a USB-C to USB-A cable. If you used a Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt 2 cable, it would not work; and there are no USB-C to Thunderbolt 2 adapters that I know of because there is no logical reason for one to exist.

Thank you. I just want to be able to charge my iPad from my MacBook. Do you recommend a hub? If you do what would be the best one?

Charging the iPad Pro on your computer will be much slower than using a separate USB-C charger, in case that matters to you.

For the cable, you want something like this, a well-reviewed USB-C to USB-A cable that supports charging and full speed data transfer: https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Charger-Powerline-Pull-up-Resistor/dp/B01E9W8KYC

If you don't have enough ports and want a hub, you can buy just about any USB 3 hub.

But if all you care about is charging, your iPad Pro will charge significantly faster using just about any USB-C charger - your laptop will actually charge it fairly slowly. The charger that came in the box with it will charge 1.5X faster than the laptop, or you can buy a charger that will charge as much as 2.5X faster than the laptop. The fastest charger is the "30W USB-C Power Adapter" which you can buy from Apple, and you can use a USB-C to USB-C charge cable with that (one came with your iPad, and you can buy them from Apple).
