On my MacBook Pro, I have the Optimize Mac Storage (OMS) box ticked. Per the image below, little cloud symbols appear next to various folders and files. This is what I expect.

On my iMac, however, I have the OMS box unticked. I was expecting a full copy of my iCloud Drive files to be automatically stored on my local hard drive. But this is not happening. As you can see from the image, some iCloud Drive files continue to have cloud symbols next to them.

Is there a way I can force iCloud Drive to always keep a full copy of my files on my iMac internal drive? FYI both Mac's are running macOS Mojave 10.14. And I am signed into both Mac's with the same Apple ID.

Thanks.

I'll guess that you have to TURN OFF the "optimize" option to get that to work.

Can't say for sure because I've never clicked the "optimize" button, and never will.

I prefer "all my stuff" -- EVERYTHING -- right "down here" on my drive and on my backups so I know just where it is!
