Help with Philips USB Headset

Hello... I recently bought a Philips USB Headset. I plugged everything in and the light on the USB comes on but the mic/headphones don't work. Is there any way I can make this work on my 13" Macbook Pro by downloading software? It would be a total waste of money if it didn't work.

Never mind I went into sound preferences and fixed the input/output. Thanks anyway!
