Help with photos / videos and more

hey all,
Does anyone have any good tricks to manage their photo / video library on their iPhones? I've run into numerous problems and just want to see what you guys do

1. Live photos - Seems in order to sync those back you must include videos, is that correct?

2. When syncing slo-mo videos, they sync to OSX photos fine, but when they come back to iPhone they lose their slow mo ness.

3. If I sync a bunch of photos from my Mac, let's say favorites on my Mac, there is no way to add camera roll photos to that album? And conversely, there is no way to quickly add that synced album to iPhone favorites?

Am I missing stuff? Or is this just broken and they want me to pay for iCloud library?

Really? No one has any solutions to these issues, or experiencing the same thing. :-(

Oh well. Guess I'll have to deal.

One thing I downloaded was True SloMo which can re-create the slow motion effect on synced videos. But now, I'll have two of the same video on my phone :-(
