So I'm trying to download a torrent (legal, promise :) ).
I look in transmission prefs, and I see that the port, 6881, is closed.
When I go to canyouseeme.org , It says that every port i have is closed, no matter what port i enter (even port 80!).
So I went into my belkins router prefs and fowarded 6881, but my question is this:
theres a box that says private IP address With the port fowarding

I put the IP address of my computer in the box... that's what your supposed to do right?

This is the Ip address I put in, if that's the case.

Even after all this, transmission says the port is still closed! Even if i change it to a different port like 51413, it still says the port is closed!

Any help would be appreciated :)

Make sure you're fowarding TCP only.

Also it's possible you're ISP is blocking torrents.

My firewalls set to allow ALL incoming traffic :( and i tried making it so it only fowards TCP ports, but no luck :(

But I don't think that it's my ISP blocking the ports, maybe something with the router, because if it says port 80 is closed then I wouldn't even be able to browse the web! .. or would I?

But anyway, are there any other ports I can try using that ISPs dont usually block?

Thankssssssssssssssssss:D

Sorry. It should be working alright, so I'd call your ISP and see if they do block ports. Seems like it's the most probably cause if your troubles...

Thanks for the reply, but it just doesn't make sense. My torrents are going at 600KB/s each... yet the port is closed.
How could I be being capped on 6881 if its going at 600KB/s fine?
